Enter stage right, a woman, my mother,
now cast in a new light, I'm seeing another.
I'm seeing a girl who learns a new role,
a babe in her arms, her body and soul.
 
I'm seeing a woman who hopes she's enough,
a woman who's shed quiet tears when it's tough.
I'm seeing a powerful life force arise,
the steeliest wit shining bright in her eyes.
 
And when we embrace my arms hold her tight,
acknowledging every long dark sleepless night.
I whisper a thank you, hold onto her hand,
and she knows that I get it, that I understand.
