Joanna was longlisted for the Out-Spoken Prize For Poetry in 2017. Her debut poetry book Swimming Underwater was published in 2017. In December 2017 she was commissioned by GOSH Arts to write a book for Great Ormond Street Hospital in collaboration with illustrator Sarah Dennis. It was subsequently turned into a film read by Rupert Everett. She has had poems featured in numerous magazines. She lives in Bristol with her partner and two young children.
