Joanna Bennett, Tatterhood, is a writer based in Bristol, England.
Books by the author:
WIP - 2025
‘Following on from her 2020 hit ‘Tiny Lungs’ (picked up for the High Low podcast finale) and 3000+ titles sold worldwide, WIP continues with the author’s trademark style, poignant, moving and shot through with wit, hope and beauty.’
‘Her core themes and reflections on modern life, identity, womanhood and cultural tensions remain, this time undercut with the hum of sight loss flickering in the background.’
These Are My Delicious Sandwiches - 2021
“Jo is exactly as warm and funny and honest as I hoped she’d be, and her voice leapt out at me...”
Tiny Lungs 2020 - A Highlow Podcast / Pandora Sykes and BBC recommendation.
“a window into the heady mix that is parenthood, the fear, the exhaustion and the love...”
Swimming Underwater - 2017
In December 2017, she was commissioned by GOSH Arts to write a book, 'Follow The Fishes' for Great Ormond Street Hospital, which was subsequently turned into a film read by Rupert Everett.
Joanna was longlisted for the Out-Spoken Prize for Poetry in 2017.
"Joanna Bennett wears her insides on her outsides. Her poetry gifts us fragments of womanhood, motherhood, aching love,
and the daily grind. I hope you fall as much in love with her as I did."
